Long time no blog! How about an italian one!

So I haven't been exactly keeping my blog up to date. I know! But here I am doing the write thing. Ha!

So if you follow The Life and Times of Baby D-Lish you may have figured out I have taken somewhat of a time out from my normal life. I am in Italy, and have become an Italian (and an EU) citizen again. A recent endeavour I have partaken on, and my wonderful spouse has supported me on. I could not have done it without her, as this has taken me more than a year and a half and THREE (yes count them three) trips to Italy, which she could not come on for one reason or another, mostly school. I have acquired a new appreciation for a bureaucracy that has been in the making for approximately 3000 years. To get my passport I had to come to Italy for 21 days because that is how long it takes to create one. No expediting payment exists. I had to ask them very nicely (my cousin did) to have the passport ready in 15 days, because I was leaving. After multiple trips to the town hall and immigration with Zia Lina and my cousin Angela, I was to received my passport today. All hail my passport. I got the passport, but... You see, there exists two pieces of information that are unique to the individual on the passport, your name and birth date. They got one correct, my name. My birth date was wrong. Great. Gave it back and tomorrow I should be receiving the corrected passport. Hopefully. Which proves, they can create one much faster than 21 days. But, like I said, this bureaucracy has been in the making for 3000 years. It is exquisite!

My stay here has been memorable. I traveled here with my brother. We both know that we will probably never get to spend this much time together on vacation ever again. Thank god! JK bro... You know I love you dearly. We went to the beach around Gaeta, and to an island with my AWSOME cousin Rafaella called Ventotene. The weather has been OK. It has been cloudy about 40% of the time. Got back from Perugia, yesterday loaded with chocolate perugini! NICE! You know what you are getting my dearest of friends and relatives... When I got home, a connection piece to the hot water heater in the bathroom had broke, and everything got soaked! It was a sauna in the bathroom!!! So, after the 4 hour car ride, we had clean out and dry the entire bathroom. I have to go fix that when I am done here.

I miss my prego wife greatly. I will be leaving on Saturday and am excited to see her again. I have skyped with her, talked on the phone with her, and just got to see the baby kicking on her blog The Life and Times of Baby D-Lish. Awesome! Miss you my love. I wish she could have come on this trip, but unfortunately, work got in the way, and she will not be able to travel in June when work is over due to the pregnancy. Sorry baby! I hope the chocolates will make you feel better!!!

Ok enough for now, off to the bathroom repair work! Ciao tutti!

V-Day!

Well valentine day has gone by. My oh my... we went to Babies R' Us. Not to romantic you say? Mostly not, but the baby is more important! Well I was less than keen going and I must admit that all the stuff you need for a baby astounds me. My wonderful wife had her sh*t together though! Not only did she know what we needed to look at, she told me what the ratings were from her handy dandy little reference book. SWEET. As much as I hoound her for OCD, it comes in handy from time to time. BRU was not so bad. I rather enjoyed looking as cribs, and pack n plays. By the time we got to stollers we had both had enough! I am trying to pace myself, and her. After all we have 6 more months... from the back of my head I hear: famous last words...

Daddy of Baby D-Lish

Daddy of baby for

The Life and Times of Baby D-Lish (http://babyd-lish.blogspot.com/)

Boy do I have anxiety about this one! Every time I start thinking about how overwhelming this all is, I remind myself - HEY THIS IS WHAT YOU WANTED! No, seriously, anxiety attacks aside, I am very excited about this. Only time will tell where this goes. As with all parents I want only the best for my baby! Jeez, now we have to come up with some names! Should be fun!!!
